Back to GRC Homepage Interim Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) for germplasm designated In Trust under the auspices of the FAO

When the Treaty was adopted, the CGRFA accepted a call for an immediate revision of the original MTA to improve its compliance with the Treaty. The Interim MTA was the result, prepared by the CGRFA. All CGIAR institutes with In Trust collections started using the revised text on 2003 May 1, as an Interim MTA, pending development of the standard MTA by the Governing Body of the Treaty

The interim MTA is no longer in use for cultivated and wild species of the genus Oryza.

The interim MTA continues to be used for germplasm of other species that was held in the genebank at IRRI in trust under the auspices of the FAO
