Home Development of a new approach Widespread benefits Producing healthy rice

 Wasteful use of nutrients

Rice farmers are often not aware of the optimal type and amount of supplemental nutrients needed in their fields. They often apply either too much or not enough supplemental nutrients for high profit.

This can lead to a waste of nutrient inputs. Excess nutrients can be released as pollutants to nearby water bodies and the atmosphere. Meanwhile, insufficient application of nutrients to meet crop needs can reduce the profitability of rice farming and contribute to poverty of farmers.
