Scientists, through research in major rice-growing
areas across Asia, established the scientific basis
for a new concept.
The demand of a rice crop for essential nutrients is
established by setting a yield target well-matched
to local climatic and crop-growing conditions. The
crop’s need for supplemental nutrients is determined
from the gap between the crop's demand for nutrients
and the supply of these nutrients from existing
native sources, including soil, crop residues,
organic materials, and irrigation water. |
