 More profit for farmers

Scientists throughout Asia have shown that SSNM increases the profitability of rice farming. By using the SSNM approach, farmers achieve high rice yields with less input of nutrients for every unit of rice produced.

Studies, for example, revealed an added net annual benefit of US$106 per hectare per year in the Philippines and $168 per hectare per year in southern India. In Bangladesh, the improved use of nutrients achieved with SSNM increased net benefit by about $80 per hectare for a rice crop.
