Methodology/Approach

1) Small workshops and exchange visits to inventory and exchange information on the development of water-saving technologies, to discuss protocols and guidelines, and to cross-compare results between sites.

2) Inventory of water-saving techniques, their adoption by farmers, and farmers’ behavior and objectives in water-scarce areas.

3) Support will be provided to assist experimentation on water-saving technologies and pilot studies to adapt and introduce promising technologies in on-farm participatory approaches.

4) Integration of farmers, extension services, and irrigation managers in the development and adoption of water-saving technologies.
