Akinori Noguchi is currently a technical adviser of the food processing machinery division of Sodick Co., Ltd. and an Emeritus Professor of Food Sciences at the Ishikawa Prefectural University in Japan. He received his Bachelor of Engineering from Waseda University and Master of Science and Doctor of Science from Tokyo Institute of Technology.
Dr. Noguchi has been the Vice President of Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences (JIRCAS). He has also served JIRCAS as Director of its Research Planning and Coordination Division, Crop Production and Post-harvest Technology Division and as Research Coordinator of the Research Information Division. At National Food Research Institute (NFRI) he served as Chief of the Food Processing Laboratory, Food Engineering Division, Senior Researcher at the Protein Laboratory, Food Science Division and, Researcher at the Materials Utilization Technology Laboratory, Food Engineering Division. He also served as Professor in the Graduate School of Food Technology at the University of Tokyo and Professor in the Graduate School of Agricultural Engineering at the University of Tsukuba.
His researches focused on food technology and equipment design which has earned for him several awards from professional organizations in Japan. He was awarded Friendship Award, State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs of the R.R.C. China in 1999. He has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals and books and in international conference proceedings. He has to his name seven patents from the USA, Japan, and Norway.
