Gopesh Tewari

Gopesh is heading IRRI Education, which is the educational arm of IRRI and is at the forefront of imparting education and capacity development programs to its partners in the global south in various disciplines of rice science and technology and offering diverse and global learning experiences since 1962. He has extensive 16 years of experience in Education, Capacity Development, Agriculture, Rural Development, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) / Skills Development, and ICT for Development projects under advisory and implementation. 

Before joining IRRI, Gopesh led the education and skills development works of a project management consulting firm, leading their Asia and Africa operations. He has led several projects by the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank , DFID, ILO, USAID, KOICA,  JICA and country governments, in agricultural education, capacity development, project management, M&E, impact assessment,  etc. 

Gopesh is a passionate, committed, and result-oriented professional with proven leadership skills.  His expertise includes resource generation; team management, program management (planning, strategizing, and implementation); training needs assessment and skills gap assessment; monitoring and evaluation; advisory services; garnering client relationships with P&L responsibility for unit/region.
