The Council for Partnerships on Rice Research in Asia (CORRA) is composed of the leaders of the national agricultural research and extension systems (NARES) of 16 rice growing countries countries in Asia, and IRRI. The main objective of CORRA is to guide, facilitate, support and strengthen the partnerships between and among the NARES in Asia, and IRRI. By sharing rice research and development plans and outcomes, member countries and IRRI are kept abreast of each other's priorities and concerns on rice research. This fosters a culture of mutual support and promotion of scientifically proven technologies and policies in the rice sector of the region.

Last 19 November 2021, CORRA held its 25th annual meeting to discuss current challenges and opportunities for rice-based agri-food systems in the region, and of the role the new One CGIAR will play in contributing to Asia’s food systems transformation.
CORRA webinar shares opportunities in sustainable rice straw management
The Council for Partnership on Rice Research in Asia (CORRA) recently hosted an online science webinar entitled “Rice Straw Management: Scaling GHG Emission-Reducing Technologies and Practices” that presented different options for repurposing the rice byproduct, as an alternative to the practice of rice straw burning.
CORRA launches 2021 science webinar series
The Council for Partnership on Rice Research in Asia (CORRA) kicked off its CORRA science webinar series on 02 June via Zoom with a presentation on sustainable intensification of rice-based systems.
CORRA Member Countries
Member countries are represented by senior officials of selected national agricultural research and extension systems (NARES) in Asia. Countries are selected based on the importance of rice in their national agricultural plans and for their representation of rice ecosystems. Starting with 10 country members and IRRI in 1996, CORRA now has 16 country members plus IRRI who is represented by its director general.
