The Council for Partnerships on Rice Research in Asia (CORRA) was established in 1996 with the vision to enhance the effectiveness of the various partnership mechanisms between IRRI and its partners in the global rice research system.
The Council is comprised of leaders from the National Agricultural Research and Extension Systems (NARES) of 17 rice‑growing countries in Asia, together with IRRI. Its primary objective is guiding, facilitating, supporting, and strengthening partnerships among NARES and between NARES and IRRI. This collaboration enables the sharing of research and development plans and outcomes, fostering mutual support and promoting scientifically proven technologies and policies in the regional rice sector.
Activities

CORRA Annual Meeting
The CORRA Annual Meeting serves as a vital platform for senior officials and representatives from national agricultural research and extension systems (NARES) of major rice-producing and consuming countries to convene and collaborate. The host country for the annual meeting plays a key role in shaping the main topics and agenda of the meeting in consultation with the CORRA Secretariat. The annual meeting enables the host country to showcase advances the country is making in its rice industry and R&D programs, as well as help to highlight the strong collaborative partnership between the country and IRRI.

CORRA Science Webinars
CORRA hosts Science Webinars to facilitate knowledge exchange among its members. It also aims to enhance collaboration and partnership among CORRA member states through regular online engagements. The webinars also serve as a platform to present IRRI's latest research findings, which align with the interests and priorities of National Agricultural Research and Extension Systems (NARES) in Asia.
