  • Two Degree Initiative for Food and Agriculture

The ‘Two Degree Initiative’ (2DI) is a coalition of hundreds of like-minded partner organizations from around the world. They are brought together with a single unifying vision – to transform the global food system for a climate-smart future.
A recording of the CCAFS-WRI webinar on the Two Degree Initiative (2DI), where IRRI plays a lead role, will be streamed on 25 January at the Climate Adaptation Summit.

  • CGIAR Research Pays Off: New Report Finds 10 Times Return on Investment

Investments in CGIAR research generate returns of 10 times the amount invested, a new report has found. The report, commissioned by the Supporters of Agricultural Research (SoAR) Foundation, found a 10 to 1 benefit-cost ratio on CGIAR investments of $60 billion in present value terms over almost five decades.

  • Agricultural Research Unties the Gordian Knot

For CGIAR, the CERES2030 study was both a reminder and validation. A reminder that a portfolio approach to food systems research is required. And a validation of CGIAR’s efforts through targeted research – delivering benefits through partnerships focused around knowledge and empowerment, innovations that can be easily implemented from fields to markets, and policy recommendations that are supported by science.

IRRI Event Spotlight - EARC 2021

DON'T MISS OUR FIRST VIRTUAL CONFERENCE!

As rice becomes a strategic commodity in Africa, many countries have embarked on various programs that, along with continental initiatives, aspire to chart a course of action for moving the regional rice sector forward. The EARC 2021 will serve as a platform for accomplishing the ambitious plan of strengthening domestic rice production by initiating substantive discussions on the challenges and opportunities in the sector.

Join us as we bring together diverse and prestigious key players in Africa's agri-food sector—including government officials, development partners, members of the research and academic community, donors and investors, the private sector, civil society, women and youth sectors, and farmers groups—to lead its transformation, empowerment, and development.
